Concept sketch

So in my sketch session this morning I tried to come up with a dress design suitable for a bridesmaid.

I went with the color purple because,  well, I love purple…but then I also decided to go with a single shouldered draped dress with an asymmetrical hemline..

Sketch session

Well, this isn’t a fashion illustration… .just a sketch I made this morning for the fun of it. I was going for an image of a young woman looking over a nice morning landscape. In this illustration, I decided to show it’s incomplete and finished stage..

1st pattern illustration

Okay, so I’m currently exploring pattern work, and I’ll be attempting a series of fashion illustrations based on it.This is the first. Its a floral pattern, green on cream, and its used to sketch a cream floral dress, nice for casual outings. Stay tuned for more..

Educate yourself..

This art piece was for an eBook that was titled educate yourself. I just went for a straightforward “woman reading a book”. What made this piece special to me is that I experimented with an art style that’s supposed to give it a realistic, kinda movie like look. I think it turned out okay..

The blindness of religion.

This is an illustration I made recently about a common issue, especially in many African countries. Many people believe in a higher power, a force that guides their actions and its outcome, which is fine, I have my faith as well. What is not fine is that some people believe so strongly in a higher power to bring a desired change in their lives that they completely disregard their own ability. Prayer is good, but it will amount to nothing if you dont act. It is ultimately your actions that bring change to the world around you.

The illustration portrays a man praying for a house, while he pays no attention to the materials he can use to build that house. The message is simple: You can believe in God, but believe in yourself as well.

I’ll also try to post something at least every week, don’t forget to follow if you like what you see. #postaweek #illustration
